This year the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco celebrates its 78th anniversary. The 2015 season lasts from June 14 to August 16. Every Sunday at 2pm, you will find a free concert in the park. The shows usually last two to three hours and are wildly popular. Some of last year’s artists included Smokey Robinson, Patti Austin and the Funky Meters. More info.

The Austin Convention & Vistors Bureau (ACVB) is coming to California! The ACVB vintage Airstream trailer will make a pit stop at San Francisco Pride on Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28. They are hosting performances by critically acclaimed, Latin-folk singer/songwriter Gina Chavez who will perform every half hour from Noon – 6 p.m. Come visit the Airstream, which has been decked out by local Austin artisans, and have the chance to enter an Austin vacation giveaway. The Pink Triangle, organized every year by Patrick Carney, has been installed for each Pride weekend since 1996 as a visible yet mute reminder of man’s inhumanity to man.  This will be the 20th Pink Triangle display. The community has embraced the pink triangle as a symbol of pride, though it was once used in an attempt to label and shame. We must remind people of the hatred of the past to help educate others so that what happened in the Holocaust won’t be forgotten and won’t be repeated. More info.
